I’m so happy to share with you my ultimate self care & beauty routine. It’s taken me years to figure out what works best for my body and I think I finally nailed it! :)
MINIMAL, NATURAL & NON-TOXIC
I’m a minimalist in all my routines. I honestly don’t even accept most of the free stuff brands want to send me or the samples they hand at stores. And when I find things that I really love, I stick with them. Most of the things you'll see here is what I’ve been using for YEARS.
A little about my skin type: I have very dry and sensitive skin. My face gets red very easily, especially around my cheeks and nose. I’ve also struggled with rosacea and eczema in the past. Using high quality and clean products really transformed my skin. But I have to say: eating well, exercising and living healthy is so important if you want a healthy, glowing skin from the inside out. (Read more about that in this post.)
Morning cleanse: I just wipe my face with organic rose water. I made the switch to these reusable organic cotton pads and it changed my life. They’re a sustainable and eco friendly alternative to the traditional cotton pads. You can machine wash and use them over and over again. You'll never go back!
Morning serum + moisturizer: I start with a face oil mix: 2 drops of Vitamin C Rose Oil + 2 drops of Virgin Marula Luxury facial oil. I then top this off with some B-Hydra Intensive Hydration Serum. That’s how dry my skin is. :) This combo gives you the best glow and deep hydration.
Night time cleanse: I’ve been using these soaps by Drunk Elephant. Don’t let the word soap scare you. It’s the best thing ever, doesn’t dry out your skin + it’s travel friendly.
Night time serum + moisturiser: I loveee T.L.C Night Serum. I swear this is why I never get pimples anymore. It resurfaces dull skin and gently lifts all the dead skin cells away. It’s like a high-tech chemical exfoliation without making you dry or red. Once it’s absorbed for a few minutes, I put on the Lala Whipped Cream. It’s a “recover + rescue” cream that gives an intense hydration. I like using this at night because it’s quite thick, almost like a mask consistency.
Once a week: Babyfacial mask - this one is a multiple award winner for a reason! It’s an at home mask but it’s as effective as a real facial at a spa. It resurfaces the skin, improves skin texture and tone, and gives you clearer & more youthful skin.
If you don’t want to invest in all full sizes of these products, you can get this travel size Littles collection and give it a try. I think you’ll fall in love with this brand!
Face tanning oil: Clarins Golden Glow, my holy grail! I’ve used this all summer to fake a natural face tan. You can look like you just got back from a vacay in Cabo with just two drops of this oil overnight. :)
5 MINUTE EVERYDAY MAKEUP ROUTINE
Since I started using clean makeup, I’ve been a huge RMS fan. Their products are all coconut oil based, very clean and great quality. The ingredients are so good that it’s almost a food grade product haha. I do my makeup in 5 minutes using only a few products:
My holy grail beauty boosting, moisturizing tinted sunscreen: Suntegrity's Impeccable Skin. I cannot recommend this product enough, so good! It's like a clean CC cream + moisturizer + SPF 30 all in one. (My shade is Buff for reference.)
For concealer, I loveee and use the Uncover up concealer (my shade is 22) under my eyes and also to cover any pimples or red spots on my face.
This highlight is my all time favorite! It gives you the best natural looking glow. Tip: I put a little to the inner corners of my eyes, looks so beautiful.
Bronzer/contour: this one is my favorite!
For blush, I use the Smile from RMS. Honestly, I’ve never been a blush girl, but this one really changed my opinion about using blush. It’s such a lovely natural pink+coral shade. Make sure you use very little because it’s very pigmented. I apply a little bit higher on my cheeks, right under the highlight. I love love love it.
I don’t use mascara everyday, but my favorite is Diorshow mascara in brown.
Brows: I only use this clear brow setting gel and call it a day! My brows are naturally full and shaped well so I just leave them as they are.
LIPS: This is my favorite lip mask/balm that I carry with me at all times. It's the best!
BODY: Obsessed with this coconut body milk. The smell is so gorgeous – the best subtle luxurious coconut smell ever! I use it all over my body after shower. It moisturizes very well and absorbs right away.
Dry brushing is also something I try to do before shower 2-3 times a week. It helps smooth out your skin, gently exfoliate and increase blood circulation. I use this brush set.
HAIR: I love investing in high quality hair products. Currently I’m using Act + Acre shampoo and conditioner. It’s marketed as a wellness haircare brand. I like that it’s non-toxic, eco friendly and vegan. It has cold pressed essential oils like ylang ylang to nourish and cleanse. It smells divine, but I haven’t seen any drastic results with it, but overall it’s a great clean product line.
If you have blonde hair and/or highlights, my all time favorite purple shampoo is Oribe’s Bright Blonde shampoo. Every time I use this shampoo, random people comment on my hair. It really makes my natural blonde highlights pop out and shine so beautifully. 100% recommend this!
NATURAL DEODORANT: It’s so important to use a non-toxic deodorant without the nasty chemicals in it. Because whatever we put on our skin literally absorbs into our body. I’ve tried so many natural deodorants and I was about to give up. It’s really hard to find the one that actually works, smells great and with an easy stick application. (I just don’t like the paste formulas where you use your fingers to scoop and apply)
This is a new find, but I’ve been loving this Native deodorant. I got the coconut scent, of course. When I posted this on my IG stories, many of you have reached out saying you love it too, yay! Definitely recommend it. You can find them at Target or online.
Do you use any of the products I use? What are some of your favorite self care beauty products right now? Tell me in the comments below! :)
Lots of love,
