1. Tidy up your space!
Decluttering and creating a clean space really does boost your productivity. My best and most productive days start with tidying up my apartment. It is so simple and magical! :) First things first, tart by making your bed, then declutter and clean your desk/work space. Since I work from home most days, I also tidy up the living room so there is no distraction.
2. Create a morning routine to set yourself up for success emotionally, spiritually, physically.
It is so important to start the day right with a simple routine. This might look different for everyone. Experiment and find what works best for you. So, for example, my morning routine involves a 10 minute meditation using the Headspace or Calm app, drinking warm water with lemon juice and writing in my journal. I have to do these 3 things to be my best self during the day. But, I am not perfect at this. Some days I teach very early Pilates classes, so I would do whatever I can fit in and do the rest later when I have time. So, I want you to write down 3 things you want to do to prep yourself and DO THEM tomorrow morning. :)
3. Do some kind of mindful movement.
Moving your body in the morning can boost your mood, increase your ability to focus, so you can actually get things done. In my personal experience, doing some kind of exercise in the morning helps me be more focused and productive during the day. You can do a gentle pilates or yoga flow, take a workout class, or go out for a short walk. I promise this will help you feel and focus better.
Set yourself up for success emotionally, spiritually, physically.
4. Turn off anything that dings, rings or pops up.
Let's be real. We are constantly being distracted by our phones, texting, scrolling on IG, checking our emails all day. This just makes it so hard to concentrate and stay focused on our tasks/projects. Once you turn off all that noise, you can take control of your beautiful brain back! To be honest, the day I turned off my Instagram notifications was one of the best day of my life lol. But really, you have to do this right now!
5. Do the most important things first.
Use the first half of the day for creative work. Maybe you need to write a blog post, or work on your business plan, reflect on big picture stuff. Leave the reactive tasks for a later time in the day. So, for example, from 9am to 12pm I'm focused on teaching Pilates, creating content, brainstorming about different projects. From 5:30-6pm is when I get back to texts, emails and replying back to Instagram comments and DMs.
